Summary
There are a large variety of situations with respect to business taxation, so Mr. Takiya spoke about the Japanese tax system in general and fielded a variety of questions for about one hour. There was much discussion among the foreign attendees regarding personal experiences in dealing with the tax system. There were about 25 participants present divided evenly between Japanese and non-Japanese. A handout was provided for those wishing to take part in individual consultations at the International Communication Plaza at the end of the month.
This was the very first presentation held by the group so unfortunately there was minimal recording of the discussion or collecting of handouts. Therefore, it might be useful to do a Google search on "Filing a Tax Return in Japan".
